Please reach out to us if you cannot find an answer to your questions.
"S&S" stands for Schroeder & Sons.
We are a family-owned and operated business by Ron Schroeder and his son Jared, along with Ron's wife, Stephanie.
We accept cash and credit / debit cards. Checks can be accepted, but only at our discretion.
No. We do not contract with nor do we accept AAA. However, we try to keep AAA reimbursement forms in each of our trucks and at our office for those that have AAA that use us directly.
We don't normally charge mileage within city limits. The tow price at this point is just a standard "hook-up fee".
Yes. But we do charge mileage out of town. The further it is away, the higher the price will be. Feel free to call for a quote.
That's because we charge an After-Hours fee between 9PM - 5AM.
We can, but it is at the tow driver's discretion. Depending on our workload, there are times we can't go too far out of the way to drop people off. Unfortunately, we are not a taxi service, but we will try make things easier for people, especially when they are in a bad situation.
We have an entire page dedicated to impounded vehicles and their release.
Absolutely not. If it's parked on a public street, that would be car theft. You will have to call the Austin Police Dept at (507) 437-9400, ask for dispatch, and speak to them about a parking complaint. Only then will the car be able to be towed with authorization from either the city or the APD.
There are a few reasons:
#1) Any vehicles weighing 3/4 ton and over will be a bit more expensive due to the wear and tear on the trucks. Examples are a Ford F-250 (3/4 ton) a Chevy 3500 (1 ton) and anything larger. These can range from farm vehicles like trucks, utility trucks, flatbed trucks, etc.
#2) Your average car is usually Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) or Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD). Some vehicles that are All-Wheel Drive (AWD) or even some Four-Wheel Drive (4X4 / 4WD) can't be towed the same way as the FWD / RWD vehicles without causing damage. Different equipment can be required for different vehicles and situations.
That is because we've had too people drive off as soon as they have gas in their car. Those people ruined it for everybody.
Generally, no. We do move tractors, forklifts, and other equipment with wheels. As for stuff like sheds, or equipment that needs to be lifted, we usually avoid it. We have in the past, and still can, but that is at our discretion.
There can be a few reasons.
1) You failed to pay for a tow or service and have unpaid bills or invoices.
2) You have have been extremely rude to our drivers, or even threatened them.
3) You have trespassed, stolen, or damaged our property or equipment.
Yes. Just give us a call and we can either email, text, or print you a new one.
Get in touch with us and and we may be able to work something out. Never hurts to ask.
No, we do not. We specialize in moving cars of all kinds, and we'd like to leave the repair services to the various repair shops of your choice.
Absolutely not. We have no desire to expand into other cities. We want to put all our effort into helping our own community above all others. We are a LOCAL company who wants to STAY LOCAL.
